What Is Your Resurrection Story?

WHAT IS YOUR RESURRECTION STORY?
For those with ears to hear! I challenge each and every believer today to walk in the resurrection power of our Lord and the Holy Spirit at work in us!
Do you not realize that as you celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, that you who have been baptized into Christ have a resurrection story, as well?
What can you celebrate as your own resurrection story? What is your testimony of an area of your life where you were dead and now you are alive in Christ?
What area of your life have you let go of and allowed God to work in and manifest His miraculous, wonder working power in? Some past hurts? Some past pain? Some past pleasure that was sapping the life out of you that God has delivered you from and given you Living Water to satisfy your soul? Some past obsession? Some past dependency?
When we turn from our own ways and trust Jesus as our Lord and we are baptized into Christ – we die to our old life and the bondage of sin and we are raised to walk in new life – we enter into a covenant with Christ and the body of Christ – our family, brothers and sisters in Christ, we become new creatures, and our spirits are joined with the Holy Spirit. We should be walking with the Spirit leading us. Resurrected from spiritual death, we are! We will not see our full salvation/resurrection until Christ returns, but we are to walk by faith in Christ and filled with His love, power and self control. Is this resurrection power at work in you today? Here are some scriptures to meditate upon this weekend:
 
2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
 
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
6 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
 
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
 
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
 
11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
 
Slaves to Righteousness
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
 
19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[b] Christ Jesus our Lord.
 
Ephesians 1:18-20New International Version (NIV)
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
 
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Ephesians 3:14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Faith

Faith

“Faith is our method and His resurrection power is our fuel…” a line from the letter that I sent to Jerry, today.

We walk by faith and His power is what enables us…

We walk by faith in His righteousness being given to us to wear as a breastplate and when God sees us, He sees His Son, and accepts us as His children. We walk by faith in Jesus blood washing us clean. We walk by faith in the goodness and the sovereignty of God. We walk by faith in His unfailing love. We walk by faith in His plan and that the thoughts and plans that He has for us are for our good, not to harm us, to prosper us and give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11-14) We walk by faith that when we pray to Him and seek Him with all of our hearts that He hears us and He answers us. We walk by faith in the knowledge that He has given us eternal life with Him and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. We walk by faith in His ability and willingness to heal us and to give us His peace. We walk by faith in His Word and in His precepts and we trust that His ways are good and higher than ours. We walk by faith that He knows best and what is good or bad for us as He is our Creator and our Heavenly Father.

We are empowered to walk in this faith wherever He leads us. His resurrection power is at work today and is available to us today. When believers unite in faith and in His strength, His might, His righteousness, His finished work on the cross, His authority and His power, then watch out! The gates of hell shall not prevail! The gates of hell don’t move, they don’t attack! They are sitting there and when we choose to tear them down and take back what the devil has stolen from us and run him out of our lives – this will be amazing. Let’s rise up warriors! Get ready to prevail for God’s glory. Take back your joy, take back your sons and daughters, praise the Lord in the good and the bad times and learn from Jesus and be ready to do spiritual battle for your life and your loved one’s lives.

I got a letter from Jerry from him in jail, today. Actually two letters from him came together and kind of a sermon to share with all of you. It will take a little time to get it all typed up but I will share ASAP.
