Frustrating the Grace

Frustrating the Grace

It’s not about you baby
I know you mean well
I know you just want to help
But you are just all up in the way
Frustrating the grace

You wanna be part of the solution
You wanna lend yourself
But it’s not about you baby
You’re frustrating the grace

What you want isn’t bad
It’s actually quite good
But what you can’t see or know
Is how all the pieces go
And how when the timing is just right
They’ll all line up tight
And lock into perfect place
Please stop frustrating the grace

You’re okay and covered by Me
I see you daily bending your knees
Crying and asking and seeking of Me
Stand up, believe, freely receive
And just stop frustrating the grace

You ain’t gonna stop it
You’ll never unplug it
You’ll be even more amazed
When you stop frustrating the grace

Hang on in the Struggle

I made a video and this post because I have been repeatedly taught lessons over and over again by the LORD, because I do not get it and have it stick with me very well. A lot of times, I take what the LORD is teaching me too lightly. Other times, He is breaking such ingrained bad habits and removing such old hurts and fears that it takes time for me to accept what He is doing. It sometimes takes a while for me to understand that He is removing a burden from me that I do not have to carry. I think that I have to do it the old way and forget that He is God, He is in control, He is good and I really really do want to trust Him and Him alone. Does anyone else have this problem? lol 🙂

What I really learned, again, is that God is relating with ME. He is teaching ME. I am my own problem. The struggles that I go through are not because someone else did this or that or reacted to me in such and such a way. Yes, those things may play a role in what I do go through – but God allows things to happen in our lives in order to teach us and to grow us and to refine our faith. He wants to take us deeper and deeper into who He is and who we are to Him. When something happens and I do not listen to Him and trust Him, I am opening the door to something that I do not want to go through. I am giving room for problems to get bigger. Instead, if I will listen to Him willingly and joyfully, then I can get through on firmer ground.

The other side is that even when I do mess it all up – as soon as I hear His voice and gentle reminder – and turn to Him and recognize what is going on and agree that I do need to change in an area – like giving Him control and just walking on faith and doing as He urges me to do – then He does come through and give me peace and assurance and He even overrides my mistakes and protects me and defends me and delivers me.

So, even if you notice that you are beginning to doubt – call on Him in faith and know that He will carry you through. Stand on His promises. Know the Word and stand in the Word. He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. He promises to finish the good work that He began in us. He promises to take us from strength to strength. He promises to save us from all of our troubles. When we know Him and His Word we can stand in the tests and trials and the storms and know that we do not have to fear. He will give us courage. He will release us from all strongholds and snares. God is the One who works in us to will and to act according to His good purposes.

Please reach out to a fellow believer – even me or Jerry – if you are going through a trial, struggle, test, tribulation or storm. God is with you and He is for you! Do not walk alone. He has given us each other as well, to know that we are not alone.

I hope that you receive a blessing from the sharing of God’s Word and my testimony of His faithfulness.

Psalm 84:7 They go from strength to strength,
till each appears before God in Zion.
Ephesians 6:The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Joshua 1:5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Amazing Grace Sung to House of the Rising Sun

Please check this video out!

I posted this video because, wow, isn’t God’s grace amazing? Our journey has only just begun but we have seen many dangers, toils and snares and grace has brought us through them all! Jerry and I have two best friends, a couple, that mean a lot to us. Lisa and Keith told me a while back that I should share a video of me singing this song.

I am dedicating this video and blog post to Lisa and Keith. They have been our friends for a very long time. I first met Lisa and her husband Keith in 2003. We lost contact at times but the Lord always seemed to bring me and Lisa back into each other’s paths somehow. It’s hard to say how even now. Then, when I met Jerry in 2004, I immediately introduced him to Lisa and Keith. These friends of ours have seen us through our good, bad, ugly and then new life in Christ. They have seen the transformation from Jerry and I just casually playing around with our decision for Jesus to be Lord of our lives and the difference after we truly surrendered to Him and allowed His grace to set us free. And grace was with us all along! That first weak decision ensured that His grace was at work even when we had no idea that it was!

So, enjoy this video, I hope that the different tune lets the words sink in a bit deeper tonight, or today, for you. If you are watching this then please know that God has a plan for you, a purpose for you, a mission for your life – you are no accident and He formed you in your mother’s womb. His plans for you are for good, to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and hope. When you turn to Him with all of your heart and seek Him with all that you are, you will find Him!
