Good afternoon to everyone who happens by our blog! And I know that it is God who has directed you here. This is just our meager attempt to give back to our Father who loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins and shortcomings and mistakes – knowing what they would be in advance, He came and gave His life for us so that we can know the Father. We are forever grateful.
Even having acknowledged our faith in Jesus, we admit that we are still imperfect in ourselves and of ourselves. But we also say that is the Good News of the gospel. We are nothing. We do not try to make ourselves out to be something that we are not or take any credit for any good that we do. It is only by the grace and mercy of God that we stand, stumble, fall, get back up and continue every day to seek those new mercies offered by our Father in the name of Jesus. The Good News is that we all have fallen short of God’s perfection and He knew that we would, but loves us in spite of ourselves and sent Jesus to rescue and save us from ourselves, the world and the devil. We do have victory in Jesus! Victory is not us being perfect, it is that we are perfect in Christ even though we cannot be perfect – He gives us His perfection and perfects us.
We have to not be so hard on ourselves, but we must rest in the finished work of the cross of Christ. He cried, “It is finished!” for a reason. We need to stand on the promises of God even in the face of failure and dire looking circumstances and situations. Though we fall we must keep turning to the Lord for He is the One who picks us up and gives us more grace. I am like Paul who said: “Who can save me from the wretch that I am? But thanks be to God who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:24-25). I am so thankful to know that my sins are not counted against me and that they are covered by the blood of the spotless Lamb. And so, I pray that they are not counted against you or anyone else. I pray that you are drawn by the Holy Spirit to Jesus Christ and the Word of God and that you come to know Him so that He may reveal to you the Father, who’s love is unfailing and does not depend on who you are, where you are, what you did, what you did not do, how rich or how poor you are or any other thing. The Father so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to reconcile those who believe on Jesus into a relationship with Him. That relationship is LOVE.
I did not mean to say much more than that I am going to be posting some poems and writings from my teenage years and forward. These poems were written prior to being diagnosed as having bipolar disorder. Some of them are very strange and some of them are miraculous. I hope that they speak to you about the journey that I have been on ever since I can remember. As I do post them, feel free to ask questions or comment and thank you for stopping by our blog!
I made a video and this post because I have been repeatedly taught lessons over and over again by the LORD, because I do not get it and have it stick with me very well. A lot of times, I take what the LORD is teaching me too lightly. Other times, He is breaking such ingrained bad habits and removing such old hurts and fears that it takes time for me to accept what He is doing. It sometimes takes a while for me to understand that He is removing a burden from me that I do not have to carry. I think that I have to do it the old way and forget that He is God, He is in control, He is good and I really really do want to trust Him and Him alone. Does anyone else have this problem? lol 🙂
What I really learned, again, is that God is relating with ME. He is teaching ME. I am my own problem. The struggles that I go through are not because someone else did this or that or reacted to me in such and such a way. Yes, those things may play a role in what I do go through – but God allows things to happen in our lives in order to teach us and to grow us and to refine our faith. He wants to take us deeper and deeper into who He is and who we are to Him. When something happens and I do not listen to Him and trust Him, I am opening the door to something that I do not want to go through. I am giving room for problems to get bigger. Instead, if I will listen to Him willingly and joyfully, then I can get through on firmer ground.
The other side is that even when I do mess it all up – as soon as I hear His voice and gentle reminder – and turn to Him and recognize what is going on and agree that I do need to change in an area – like giving Him control and just walking on faith and doing as He urges me to do – then He does come through and give me peace and assurance and He even overrides my mistakes and protects me and defends me and delivers me.
So, even if you notice that you are beginning to doubt – call on Him in faith and know that He will carry you through. Stand on His promises. Know the Word and stand in the Word. He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. He promises to finish the good work that He began in us. He promises to take us from strength to strength. He promises to save us from all of our troubles. When we know Him and His Word we can stand in the tests and trials and the storms and know that we do not have to fear. He will give us courage. He will release us from all strongholds and snares. God is the One who works in us to will and to act according to His good purposes.
Please reach out to a fellow believer – even me or Jerry – if you are going through a trial, struggle, test, tribulation or storm. God is with you and He is for you! Do not walk alone. He has given us each other as well, to know that we are not alone.
I hope that you receive a blessing from the sharing of God’s Word and my testimony of His faithfulness.
Psalm 84:7 They go from strength to strength,
till each appears before God in Zion.
Ephesians 6:The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Joshua 1:5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
There is GOOD NEWS this morning for those who believe in Jesus Christ and who know Him.
First of all, there are many believers in Christ who need to realize that they have not yet entered into His REST. Continue reading “The Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ”
Not of God
Whatever voice you hear that is not of God, do not listen to it.
Rebuke anything you hear that is not of God. Tell it to go in the name of Jesus. Aloud.
And surrender to Jesus. Trust Jesus. Be still. Listen.
In the peace that comes, He will tell your heart what to do, which way to go and where the turns are – you will know the right thing – it may not be the easy thing – but you know that the right thing leads to peace, joy, love, hope, etc…
If you are afraid to do the right thing – do not listen to fear – when you hear, “Yeah, but…” Stop and say, “But God…”
But, God is good.
But, God is bigger.
But, God is stronger. And so on…
Perfect love drives out fear. (I John 4:18) God’s love is perfect.
The enemy is the one that wants to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10) But greater is Jesus, He, that is in us – than anything or anyone else!! (I John 4:4) The devil is a liar and he is an accuser. He wants to put fear, anxiety and unrest into the lives of all those that he can.
Well, he has no power to do so in the life of a believer in Jesus Christ – or anyone else for that matter. (Colossians 2:14-15) We need to stand in the gap and pray for one another and for our “enemies” – those who are of opposing opinions, those who disagree with us, those who misunderstand us, etc…
The separations and the divisions perpetuate the lies and cause continued strife. (I Corinthians 1:10) They are of the devil and his lies and schemes. They are powerless against the Truth and fall flat when confronted with Love and Truth in humility and compassion.
Let us come together in the love of Jesus Christ and be unified in His love – (John 17:23)
Remembering that in Christ there is no separation due to race, nationality, gender, class, or anything else – the gospel brings unity and peace as we are reconciled with our Father. (Galatians 3:28)
We overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)
We defeat lies with truth. Truth sets us free… (John 8:32)
…free from guilt, shame, fear, hate, etc…
Whatever is the opposite of the fruits of the Spirit is of the world, the flesh and the devil and there are Scriptural truths to stand on and with which to defeat them.
We can know the mind of Christ: II Corinthians 2:16 (6-16)
We are no longer condemned: Romans 8:1
We are no longer slaves to fear: Romans 8:15
We cannot be separated from the love of Christ: Romans 8:35-38
Those are just a couple of examples and the Word is so full of truth telling us the true nature of our Father, our Creator. The Bible is full of truth telling us about who we really are before and after we accept Jesus Christ as our Redeemer, our Savior. Open your Bible and receive the Word of the Lord and proclaim it and believe it.
Please, do not listen to the lies of the enemies. The enemies are not only the devil, who is the father of lies, but also the world and our own flesh. Rebuke these lies. Refuse these lies. And to be truly set free from them, seek the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. All who ask of Him will receive of Him. All it takes is turning from following our own way and turning to ask of Him and receive from Him. Everything we get on our own without Him is leading us to destruction and death. But, God… Everything we seek of Him and that we will receive from Him gives us life and life eternally!
God tells us that He will instruct us in the way that we should go. (Psalm 32:8) He tells us that He confides in us. (Psalm 25:14) He tells us that He commands His angels concerning us to guard us in all of our ways. (Psalm 91:11) He promises us eternal life and blessings beyond what we can even ask for or imagine. (John 3:16 and Ephesians 3:20) Everything that He has promised, He has been showing to me and my family and we have no doubt that eternity is going to be something that we, nor you, will want to miss – with God.
