Update from Angela of 2Fools4Christ

Good afternoon to everyone who happens by our blog! And I know that it is God who has directed you here. This is just our meager attempt to give back to our Father who loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins and shortcomings and mistakes – knowing what they would be in advance, He came and gave His life for us so that we can know the Father. We are forever grateful.

Even having acknowledged our faith in Jesus, we admit that we are still imperfect in ourselves and of ourselves. But we also say that is the Good News of the gospel. We are nothing. We do not try to make ourselves out to be something that we are not or take any credit for any good that we do. It is only by the grace and mercy of God that we stand, stumble, fall, get back up and continue every day to seek those new mercies offered by our Father in the name of Jesus. The Good News is that we all have fallen short of God’s perfection and He knew that we would, but loves us in spite of ourselves and sent Jesus to rescue and save us from ourselves, the world and the devil. We do have victory in Jesus! Victory is not us being perfect, it is that we are perfect in Christ even though we cannot be perfect – He gives us His perfection and perfects us.

We have to not be so hard on ourselves, but we must rest in the finished work of the cross of Christ. He cried, “It is finished!” for a reason. We need to stand on the promises of God even in the face of failure and dire looking circumstances and situations. Though we fall we must keep turning to the Lord for He is the One who picks us up and gives us more grace. I am like Paul who said: “Who can save me from the wretch that I am? But thanks be to God who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:24-25). I am so thankful to know that my sins are not counted against me and that they are covered by the blood of the spotless Lamb. And so, I pray that they are not counted against you or anyone else. I pray that you are drawn by the Holy Spirit to Jesus Christ and the Word of God and that you come to know Him so that He may reveal to you the Father, who’s love is unfailing and does not depend on who you are, where you are, what you did, what you did not do, how rich or how poor you are or any other thing. The Father so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to reconcile those who believe on Jesus into a relationship with Him. That relationship is LOVE.

******* UPDATE******

I did not mean to say much more than that I am going to be posting some poems and writings from my teenage years and forward. These poems were written prior to being diagnosed as having bipolar disorder. Some of them are very strange and some of them are miraculous. I hope that they speak to you about the journey that I have been on ever since I can remember. As I do post them, feel free to ask questions or comment and thank you for stopping by our blog!

Why Do We Want to Serve God? By Jerry 9/7/14

Why Do We Want to Serve God? By Jerry 9/7/14

This is a question that I have asked myself when I was lost and even after I got saved. I particularly wrestle with this question when things aren’t going my way as a Christian.

We, or me, I always want to ask God “why.” Don’t get me wrong I am far from perfect and anyone that knows me could tell you that. But I get up when I fall and ask God why did this happen to me when I am doing my best to serve You?

As I mature as a Christian and look back on my fails, falls and stumbles I see that it was me that failed not God. It’s hard to serve God because we think that we are giving up our life to follow a strict set of rules and we think that there’s no way that I can be perfect like those church people. I’ll be a big failure and a hypocrite and they’ll laugh me out of the church if they ever find out half of what I’ve done.

I thought like that for many years but once I turned my life over to God and started reading His Word and got closer to Him, and even after going to church regularly for the past 4 years, I can tell you that yes you do meet some people like that – not only at church but anywhere you go. The thing is we go to church to fellowship with Jesus, so I pay no attention to those people. But then you meet other people who are brothers and sisters in Jesus there that are in the same boat you are in or even worse – and you start sharing your story with each other and what God has done for you and start serving the Lord together.

You’ll find as I did that it starts getting easier. Really serving God comes down to love. Jesus said that the 2 greatest commands in the Bible were Matthew 22:37-40. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Laws and Prophets depend on these two commands.”

What is it about this life that we love more than we love God? We on this planet are going to have and know pain and suffering with or without God and I would rather go through it with God than without Him. We are His children and He knows what is and isn’t best for us. Like I said I am not perfect and never will be but I/we can’t use that as an excuse not to love God after what He suffered for us. Jesus, our Savior, asked the Father to let the cup of wrath that we deserve not to be poured out on Him but God the Father knew there was not another way. So Jesus took it for you and me and the whole world.

I would just ask you to do one thing give Jesus a chance. Ask Him into your heart right now. Jesus is willing to start with you right where you are. Don’t worry about being perfect or trying to follow all the rules, just ask Jesus into your heart, repent of your sins and believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He willingly died for you and let Him start changing you. He is the author and finisher of our faith.

Why Are We Attacked Spiritually and Physically (8/15/14 by Jerry)

Why are we attacked spiritually and physically?

We look on the news and we hear about Christians being attacked openly and nobody seems to care. But Jesus told or tells us in the Word that if they persecuted Him that we would also be persecuted.  When we believe in Jesus our troubles don’t just magically go away but we have God walking with us. A lot of brothers and sisters forget about their faith at the first sign of trouble but when something comes our way whether by our own stupidity or for being a believer that’s when we hang onto our Savior even more.

People and other religions attack Christians because our Lord tells us to love those that hate us, do good to those who persecute us, that is what our Lord tells us to do. There is power in the Word of God and people hate us for clinging to our God in times of trouble. We are not to fear man who can only kill the body but not the soul. We are to fear God because He can send the soul to hell!

The Bible tells us that as time goes on that men and women are going to get more and more evil and that men and women would lust for the same sex. If we as Christians do the things our Father tells us to do everything will be good for us even if we die. To die is gain and be with Christ. Let’s not cling to this earth and worldly possessions that are so temporal. Let’s worry about being about our Father’s business and following the two great commands that Jesus gave us. Love the Lord your and my  God with all our heart, soul and body and love your neighbor as yourself.

We as modern day Christians have had it made as far as us believing and nobody bothering us, here in America, but if we read the  Bible we see that Christians have been persecuted from the start. If persecution does come our way, let’s have faith that our God is with us and that we are going to follow Him even if it cost us our life.

Another thing I’d like to mention: I know that in every day living it’s easy to forget what Jesus did for us. But if we keep that in our thoughts every day it will be much easier to face our trials and troubles that we face every day. Let us as Christians shine forth the light that God gave us in our ever darkening world and let the love of Christ rain on the lost so that the lost people of the world will see the Light and love the Father gave us and desire Him, also.

Let the Motivation of Our Heart Be for God’s Glory

It’s ok to work, to go to school or college, to play sports, to pursue hobbies and to use your gifts and talents. It is good to do such things and to pursue greatness in these areas. But do all of these things as if unto the Lord and for His glory.

Everything that a Christ follower does should glorify the Father, whether in word or in action. The motives of our hearts should be to bring glory to God and to know Him more as we abide in Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit. The fuel for our lives should be the passion that comes from the Lord and the Power that we get from Him.

We should no longer live lives that are powerless. We should be living lives that are loving, bold, stable, and filled with His power. We should not be living lives that are filled with a knowledge about God and His Word, but are powerless and defeated. We need to stop having a form or an appearance of godliness, but lack or deny His power at work in us. Then we will be making an impact for the Kingdom of God and we will be living the lives that God has purposed for us to live.

Call to action: As you spend time with the Lord in prayer and in reading the Bible – pay attention to the desires that He puts into your heart and what He causes you to become passionate about and ask of Him to show you where He would like to use you today. Ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and anoint you for that purpose. Be open each day for Him to pour out His Spirit into you and be a vessel of His glory and power and love…. Be willing to be used by the Lord. He is willing to use you if you love Him. He knows your heart and He loves you. He wants to love those around you through you. God wants to pour out His power into you and be glorified in your life. God bless you!

Jerry Writes from Jail “Random Thoughts & Ramblings for My Lord Jesus Christ 4/19/14”

I started reading Luke this morning and haven’t made it past the 1st chapter and have got to stop and shout it from the rooftop about how good and powerful our God is. He sent Gabriel to Elizabeth and the KJV Bible says she is well stricken in years and told her that she was going to have a baby and then sent Gabriel to a virgin and told her she was going to have the son of God. God is still just as powerful today than ever. He sent an angel to tell both women one well stricken in years and one a virgin that they were going to have babies. Our God is good to us and His mercy endures forever if we accept Him and turn from our wicked ways. he loves us and He has the best plan for us if we just trust Him to carry it out. I know very well how hard it is to wait on God but if we run ahead of Him like the Israelites in the OT the only thing waiting on them was defeat just as defeat will be waiting on us. God’s plan and timing are perfect. I think that if the God we serve can create the universe, then helping His children is nothing to Him.

Me and my wife have been talking of free will and I will have to talk with my wife about this but I am going to write it down while I’m thinking about it. We do have free will in the sense that we can choose God or reject Him. We can think whatever we want or we can take our thoughts captive. But God uses us in some way. He has a plan for us and if we go through life and don’t accept Him we are still placed on earth for a purpose. The God I serve doesn’t make something for nothing.

We as Americans have been blessed because we have always been a Christian nation. Abortions are like an everyday thing now, gay marriage is legal in some states while we as Christians stick our head in the sand and act like everything is okay. It’s time for us to take back our nation for our children, because if the Lord tarries, what are we leaving them? Nothing but a mess. But it isn’t too late for all of us as Christians to go back and do what the Bible tells us to do. I have always had a problem with thinking that on the national issues that I cannot do anything, surely someone will do something – and the next thing I know is they are telling us Christians that we are weak-kneed sissies and we just need to go away and worship this God that doesn’t exist in a corner somewhere and be quiet about it.

The God that I serve is a mighty God, He is a warrior, we will not be quiet because our God will fight for us and if He is for me who can be against me? Let’s all as Christians quit acting like we’re scared to say who we worship and let’s rise up and say it proudly because we know we have the real God on our side!

There are people going around today telling every body that the Bible isn’t real, that it’s all allegories to get a point across. I would like to say that the Bible is real each and every word in it. I mean if we think about it, who if they were going to write a fake book but one that was going to convince people that it’s a real book about God, would put the story of Jonah and the whale, David and the giant, Noah and the ark… and the list goes on… ???

Our God is so mighty that the stories that are in there about Him are so big that they can only be by and about God. No man can do what our God can do. [And when a man trusts God, there is no limit to what he can do according to God’s purposes.] That is why all of those stories are in there. PTL! [Praise the Lord!]

Our God is mighty. He is mighty to save! Let’s put our trust in the Lord and rise up and say that we’re proud to have a God that everyone wants to prove is not real. You know that He is real because everyone that doesn’t want others to believe in Him or accept Him doesn’t want anyone else to, either. He is a God of miracles and if He is for us who can be against us? Let’s all as brothers and sisters in Christ keep going after Him, hard, and while we do, let’s tell as many people as we can about Him and His love. That is the Great Commission. Let’s get back to to the real Bible and not be afraid to tell people that we are not perfect but we believe every word of the Bible.

4/19/14 by Jerry Dingler from the Jefferson County Jail in Alabama

[This is Angela – the other 1/2 of 2fools4Christ – I apologize that the blog had to be neglected for a few days due to no internet service at home. I have been able to get that matter resolved and we, 2fools4Christ, are so glad to be able to update our readers about all that is going on in our lives. Our goal is primarily to share the GOOD NEWS of JESUS, the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, and to share how that plays out in real life and how that looks by being transparent in our walk. We want to share the TRUTH with you and that involves sharing how we are imperfect, yet growing, maturing spiritually, and learning more from our Lord and Savior, Jesus, every day. Also, we want to share how good God is, how faithful and true that He is, how His love is unfailing, and how He comforts, protects, guides, teaches and blesses us and so much more! God bless you!]
