Just Thinking

Just thinking… You know, the more that we pray according to God’s will, the more we may see the world around us seem to come apart or come at us…
I think that it is because we are not to be of this world anyways and sometimes things do need to change in order for us to be in God’s will… Some things that we think that we need are no where near as good as what God has in store for us.
God knows us best and He knows why He created us. If we are truly seeking God’s will and things are not going the way that we thought that they would, that is OK! Either He has something better in store or He is bettering us, our character or our situation.

Keep seeking His face and keep seeking His will and keep building His kingdom. While we are waiting to see our hopes fulfilled, let’s not get tired of doing good and seeking God because He is going to reward us. He is our Father. He loves us. He sees everything that is going on behind the scenes that we do not see or know. He is working it all out for our good. Trust Him and keep on fighting the good fight of faith!

*** UPDATE: We got some discouraging news today, but I am trusting God to work it all out. He knew that the news was in motion and on the way long before we even had a clue that it was coming. We have recently realized that there are still several areas that we both can grow and mature in. We had some wrong attitudes or perceptions that we were operating under in our finances. God gave us clarity and a way to make a change for the better. I am grateful!

I had to repent of being ungrateful and walking in doubt, still! I am just grateful that the Holy Spirit revealed some things to me about myself and I was able to remove some weight from my shoulders by surrendering in a couple of new areas to the Lord. He does take us from strength to strength, but it is through humility and surrender to Him that we are able to go from these strengths to new strengths. It sounds backwards that we surrender and recognize and admit our weaknesses in order to get stronger. But that is how when we are weak, He is strong. That is how we grow. We can not get past what we will not see or recognize or admit and not turn it over to Him and ask Him for forgiveness and help. That is all that it means to confess our wrongs, to ask for forgiveness and to repent. It just means that we admit that we made a mistake or had it wrong and that we want help from our Savior to turn things around. Guess what?! He will!!!

*added thought: Warning: we may see our government or religious institutions shaken because we seem to think that they have all of the answers. We tend to think here in our country that the government is supposed to be looking out for our best interest and that the government will fix anything that needs to be fixed. We have blindly trusted that if the government says that it is OK or needed, that it is OK or that we must need whatever they say that we need. When did we stop thinking for ourselves and when did we stop taking our thoughts captive unto Jesus Christ and hold them up to God’s Word, first? When did we start trusting in political parties and political agendas instead of God’s kingdom and God’s agenda? When did we start trusting in doctors’ opinions and scientific theories instead of God’s promises and walking by faith in Him? If you believe that we have been faithful to God as a nation then I say that you are under a great deception. If you live in this country and you say that you are a believer in Christ Jesus but you allowed mockers of His name and kingdom to be put into leadership positions by seeking your own comfort and leisure ahead of paying attention to what is going on here, then you need to repent. I can say this because I was guilty of this, too! I used to think that there were good people voting and running for office and that everything was going to be OK and that politics was something that I did not have to worry with. I took my right to vote for granted for many years. Now, I look at this great nation that God has blessed and I repent for my own complacency and greed and apathy. I repent because I am a part of the reason that we have come so far from the once great and blessed nation that we were. If we can complain about how things are now, then let us also ask ourselves if we are partly to blame and repent. BUT, do not give up or fear! Because as I say in this post: God knows everything and has already been working behind the scenes. He knows what He is doing and what is going on. He is also preparing future generations for what they will be facing and He is equipping us for what is to come. He may be doing some shaking to wake us up to turn things around before He does poor wrath on those who truly seek to do evil. If we do repent then He will definitely step in and turn it all around for our good. If we continue to refuse to acknowledge Him and seek Him, then He will allow us to face the consequences that we have created by allowing greed, lust, laziness, pride and all kinds of evil to rule in our lives.

Choose Today God vs Devil Good vs Evil

The Lord God Almighty is about to show this world very clearly that there is only one choice.

God is about to show the earth and its inhabitants that Satan is the god of the world. God is going to make it clear that the only choice is God or the devil. Evil and wickedness will be unveiled to be seen for exactly what it is and also the one who is behind it, the devil.

I felt this morning like the Lord told me to mark this down and to share it with others. I also felt like He told me to share any confirmations of this word. There will be other prophetic voices that God speaks to that will be speaking this same message.

The Lord reminded me these are the last days and His purpose for the earth is being fulfilled and His purpose for humankind and for the devil. Evil will be exterminated, but only after it has reached its fullness and those who would reject evil and choose God and cling to His love have come into the fold of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God.

Also, TODAY, while you hear His voice is the time of salvation. While it is yet, TODAY, choose Jesus over this world and its evil schemes and wickedness. If TODAY, you hear His voice, make your choice.  The choice really is between good and evil – God or the devil – and we are going to be shown with our eyes, evil unveiled. Those who’ve made their choice for evil or against good, will soon be unable to change that choice. When all of the “acceptable” evils are shown for their true and full wicked intent, many will be shocked and terrified.

It is time to examine our hearts and our ways and see if there be any wicked way in us and turn from and reject the evil and RUN TO GOD!

Hebrews 3: 12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily,as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. 15 As has just been said:

“Today, if you hear his voice,
    do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion.”

Psalm 95:7b Today, if only you would hear his voice, 8 “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,

First confirmation to me of this message: I went to to copy and paste the above verses from Hebrews and Psalm 95 and this is the “verse of the day:”

Verse of the Day

Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

Psalm 97:10 NIV

***** My additional thoughts: Let us not be deceived. Let us love one another in Christ but let us not accept sin because sin hurts us and others. Sin separates loved ones and sin destroys lives. We can love a person and still not accept the behavior that hurts them, us and others. We need to speak the truth in LOVE. We need to persevere in our faith and our faith is in God’s unfailing love for us. These three remain: faith, hope and love. The greatest of these is love. I Corinthians 13:13
Jesus came to save and to show the way, the truth and the life. He came to love, heal and forgive. Are we doing that? We must do that to the end. Fear not for He is with us. Jesus has overcome the world. If you know Jesus then you are victorious. Stand firm in your faith and be encouraged.
Another confirmation: I was looking for an image for this post and I came across this blog post written by a sister in Christ. Her blog is called “God Whispers” and even though this post was written in 2011, the message is so similar to what I have posted here. So I am linking to her blog right here: “God Whispers: The Authority of King Jesus”

Why Does God Give Us Rules and Will We Face Consequences for Refusing to Listen?

I have been reading in Hosea, again. I chose to write down a few verses from Hosea and I will link to the whole book here and also put them at the end of this blog post.

Background: Hosea was a prophet of God in the Old Testament and the Lord told Hosea to marry a promiscuous woman and to have children with her and that she would cheat on him and even have children with another man – and then Hosea was to take her back unto himself and love her, again. Does that sound messed up and convoluted? Well, it does!

One thing that I have learned through studying God’s Word and even playing out in my own life is that God’s ways truly are higher than our ways and His thoughts are way higher than our own. He knows all and He also knows how to reach us. God knew that a personal example, a true life picture of His love for Israel was more powerful than just hearing about it or talking about it. God knew that seeing Hosea go through being cheated on and left for another man and then taking her back, forgiving her and loving her again would speak volumes to His people, Israel.

You see, Israel had done the same with God. God was Israel’s husbandman. Israel had grown rich and happy and strong and decided that they as a people did not need God and His rules any longer. This is where the title of this post comes from: Why does God give us rules and will we face consequences for refusing to listen?

As I was reading Hosea and seeing the similarities between Israel and America, and even between Israel and me and Jerry, I again saw a loving Father who gives rules for His people’s protection and guidance who is very hurt when His people turn from Him and reject Him. He is hurt not just by being forsaken, but also because our rejection of Him and His rules brings great pain, distress and destruction upon ourselves.

In Hosea, God spells out so much of what Israel is doing wrong and how they will be punished, but His love and compassion are also highlighted in this book. Do not miss this point! God is certainly not all about punishment!

In Hosea 11:1-11 God’s compassion is fully aroused for His people – God’s love is unfailing. He punishes/allows sin’s fullness to destruction to happen so that we repent and turn from evil and know that evil is not pretty or pleasant for ourselves. God does want us to understand that He doesn’t tell us to turn from evil and reject evil for no reason. He allows us to experience evil so that we see how ugly and painful it is for ourselves so that we know that God’s way is better and higher and beautiful. Just like we really learn not to touch something hot by getting burned – when we sin and reap the consequences, we begin to understand why it is wrong and why we want to avoid doing wrong.

Free will is about our loving Heavenly Father allowing us to grow up and mature into eternal beings created in His image who know through experience why and how that God’s way, love and purity and His Word are the best and only way. We are to carry into eternity all that we learn here on earth as God’s children.

He, Almighty God, Creator and Father, is all powerful, all knowing, pure, holy, righteous, just, merciful, gracious, loving and true – never failing and always present – to those who love Him and seek Him. To those who reject Him, they will reap eternal judgment because they choose to ignore and reject Him.

Our Lord does not wish for any human being to follow the devil into that eternal punishment. God came Himself in the flesh, the Word incarnate, as Jesus Christ, God’s Son – all God and all human, to show us the Way, to show us the possibilities, to show us just how much He loves us, to show us that He understands, to show us His compassion and tenderness and forgiveness and to redeem us all from the darkness and to set us free from this evil world and evil in the world and evil, even the devil – to bring the Light of the world into the world to dispel all fear and free us from the curse of sin and death.

God has spoken throughout all of history and has made His Word known to us. Just as Paul said in Romans – we are without excuse. Our own consciences prove this because within each man’s heart is a sense and knowledge of the difference between good and evil, what is right and what is wrong. We choose to follow our flesh and human desires because it is easier, it comes naturally and we want to experience our own version of pleasure. But we know that what we desire is wrong at times – and we want to ignore that knowledge.

We say to ourselves that those rules are stupid.

We say that those rules don’t apply to me, or this situation, or this one time…

We somehow think that because we say that right and wrong or God’s Word is not applicable – or we just don’t believe in it, makes it go away or null and void.

This is NOT true.

God’s Word is the truth no matter how much any man or woman tries to say that it is not.

No Congress or government can ever rise above God’s Word and the TRUTH that it is! And as long as our nation continues to speak lies about God and to God’s people and rejects Him and takes credit for the blessing that He has bestowed upon this country then we are sowing the wind and will reap the whirlwind. Instead of sowing righteousness and reaping the fruit of unfailing love we are planting wickedness, reaping evil and eating the fruit of deception! Because we have depended upon our own strength, wisdom and knowledge and sought after other ways of doing things and foundations of truth and have turned away from God – the roar of battle will also rise against us just as God told Israel through Hosea. O my Lord.

Yet, the Lord loves His people and we need to wake up and sound the alarm – if we yet repent and seek Him – He will yet save us!

Those who love the Lord and have ears to hear let us come together in unity and in love and fall down and seek His face. Let us repent from resting on what we thought we knew and not hearing a fresh word from the Lord and continually seeking His face. Let us repent from electing or allowing to be elected those who do not recognize God as the One who blesses and keeps us and as the One who built this country and made it great. Let us repent from seeking our own way, our own comfort and forgetting our neighbors as they struggle to find peace and hope.

It is no longer about the 9-5.

It is no longer about the “being a good and productive member of society.”

Status quo has got to go!

Do we love our neighbor as we love ourselves?

Do we really speak the truth in love?

Are we our brother’s keeper?

Do we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness?

Are we storing up treasures in heaven?

Have we set our soul’s attention on eternal blessings and things above?

Are we concerned about the souls of others and where they will spend eternity?

Have we also grown so richly blessed that we are spoiled, complacent, comfortable and resting on our own strength and understanding/

Do we recognize that everything comes from the Lord?

Do we only blame God for the bad things and not thank Him for everything?

Do we think that God is supposed to serve us? Do our prayers sound like to do lists for Him?

How serious are we about God?

How well do we know Jesus?

Do we hear Jesus speak to our heart – on our own – or do we depend on our pastor or the latest best-selling devotional?

When are we going to wake up from our comfortable – lukewarm – slumber? He will spew us out of His mouth!

A return! A return to Jesus and the gospel!

A call to unity in Christ! Drop the titles, drop the lines drawn by denomination, drop the programs, drop the studies and proclaim: REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM IS AT HAND!

Jesus is returning – do you know Him?

Does your neighbor know Him?

Have you been forgiven? Have you heard His voice? Turn away from your own plans and understanding! Turn away from all of the other voices and the lies! Turn to Jesus! Turn to the Word!

Lord, set our hearts on fire for You, today. May we choose to be on fire for You and not asleep in a lukewarm slumber.

Awaken all whom have been given to Your hand, Lord, to do that which You have purposed for them to do. Lord, we know that Your plans will come to pass and we know that those who love You are on the side that wins and overcomes. We see so much suffering today due to sin just as You told us. Lord we don’t want to do it our way. We know that Your way is best. We do cry out for the ones who are suffering under the consequences of sin. We know that you will not allow evil to continue forever and that You will return and ultimately that evil will be hurled into the pit of fire forever and will never again come against Your people. And we know that no more sin, no more tears and no more pain will be in that place. We cannot wait to be there with You. Continue to set us apart for that day, Lord, and prepare us for it. We do not want sin to have any part in us any longer and we do long to see our salvation come to pass where we are freed once and for all from the fleshly desires. Thank You Lord that You have done all of this for us, put these desires in us and shown us the Way to salvation and to living lives freed from the curse of sin and death. Help us to walk in Your power and victory more and more every day as You minister to us by Your Spirit. Speak to those who do come across this post and take the time to read it or skim through it, Lord, bless your servants to represent Your words… Lord, thank You for who You are and for Your rules!!! By experience, I know that You are a loving Father who just wants to grow up and mature His children. Thank You.

Hosea 4:6, Hosea 6:3, Hosea 7:13-14, Hosea 8:2-4, Hosea 8:7, Hosea 9:7-9, Hosea 11:1-11 are the verses that I wrote out but I read all of Hosea yesterday and today. The above post is just what I wrote out and typed it here to share because I really felt the Lord’s presence and see such a similarity between America and Israel.

Bottom line: God gives us rules because He is our Father! He knows what is good for us and what is bad for us. There is no way around this! God gives us rules to protect us and to grow us, just like a loving earthly father does for his own children. God is much greater than any earthly father. If we do not repent, then YES, we will face consequences as a nation for refusing to listen to God. Like it or not, if you were born in America or live here, now… America was founded upon Biblical principles by men who were led by God. They may not have been perfect, but they were God-fearing men who sought to form a better government than the ones they came from… And this country, no matter who tries to turn it away from God or deny the history of it being founded upon the Bible, will face the consequences of refusing to listen to God. If we do not have men and women in leadership positions to reaffirm that this is a nation of people who put their trust in God, alone, then we will see consequences.

Enough said, for now….. God bless you in the name of Jesus!

Question on My Mind: Pharmaceuticals and the Bible

Here is a link to an article that I found:–sorcery.html

Here is an excerpt from the article:
“The Newer Testament is originally in Greek. So when you look up the Greek of the word -Sorceries- it says this:
5331 φαρμακεία, φάρμακον [pharmakeia /far·mak·i·ah/] n f. From 5332; GK 5758 and 5760; Three occurrences; AV translates as “sorcery” twice, and “witchcraft” once. 1 the use or the administering of drugs. 2 poisoning. 3 sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it. 4 metaph. the deceptions and seductions of idolatry.”

This goes along with the blog post that I wrote that is entitled: “Have You Lost Your Faith?”

Warning from Jesus for End Times Living Luke 21:33-35

Luke 21:33-35
33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Exhortation to Watch
34 “But take heed to yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a snare; 35 for it will come upon all who dwell upon the face of the whole earth.
Do you want to know what Jesus is warning about here? Do you want to know what dissipation is? Dissipation is the way we live, today!!!! ALL OF US! Not just alcoholics or substance abusers or addicts.
Here is the definition of dissipation:
a scattering or being scattered; dispersion
a wasting or squandering
an idle or frivolous amusement or diversion
indulgence in pleasure to the point of harming oneself; intemperance; dissoluteness
Also, the physics and mechanics definition:
a process in which energy is used or lost without accomplishing useful work, as friction causing loss of mechanical energy
Do we not waste so much time chasing the cares of this world rather than doing as Jesus said for us to do in Matthew 6:33 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. And also in the Lord’s model prayer He told us to pray for His kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven as well as asking for our daily provisions to be met. When we worry for tomorrow and we strive for this and strive for that, we are taking our lives into our own hands and we are not trusting Jesus for what we need. We are trusting in ourselves. Let us not be weighted down in our hearts seeking for all the things that Jesus and only Jesus can provide for us freely and without wearing ourselves out… Lord, let those that have ears hear and grant those whom love You the understanding to see the warning that You gave and to seek You and hear Your voice, today, Lord. I share as I feel You lead me Lord so I know that there are some that will read this that You draw to this and Lord have Your way in our lives, Lord, Jesus. Have Your way and lead us Lord and Holy Spirit minister to each of us as we have need, guiding us into the Truth and Jesus You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and we thank You and praise You and pray in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

an excerpt:

III. He cautions them against security and sensuality, by which they would unfit themselves for the trying times that were coming on, and make them to be a great surprise and terror to them (Luke 21:34, 35): Take heed to yourselves. This is the word of command given to all Christ’s disciples: “Take heed to yourselves, that you be not overpowered by temptations, nor betrayed by your own corruptions.” Note, We cannot be safe if we be secure. It concerns us at alltimes, but especially at some times, to be very cautious. See here, 1. What our danger is: that the day of death and judgment should come upon us unawares, when we do not expect it, and are not prepared for it,—lest, when we are called to meet our Lord, that be found the furthest thing from our thoughts which ought always to be laid nearest our hearts, lest it come upon us as a snare; for so it will come upon the most of men, who dwell upon the earth, and mindearthly things only, and have no converse with heaven; to them it will be as a snare. See Eccl. 9:12. It will be a terrorand a destruction to them; it will put them into an inexpressible fright, and hold them fast for a doom yet more frightful. 2. What our duty is, in consideration of this danger: we must take heed lest our hearts be overcharged, lest they be burdened and overloaded, and so unfitted and disabled to do what must be done in preparation for death and judgment. Two things we must watch against, lest our hearts be overcharged with them:—(1.) The indulging of the appetites of the body, and allowing of ourselves in the gratifications of sense to an excess: Take heed lest you be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, the immoderate use of meat and drink, which burden the heart, not only with the guilt thereby contracted, but by the ill influence which such disorders of the body have upon the mind; they make men dull and lifeless to their duty, dead and listless in their duty; they stupify the conscience, and cause the mind to be unaffected with those things that are most affecting. (2.) The inordinate pursuit of the good things of this world. The heart is overcharged with the cares of this life. The former is the snare of those that are given to their pleasures: this is the snare of the men of business, that will be rich. We have need to guard on both hands, not only lest at the time when death comes, but lest at any time our hearts should be thus overcharged. Our caution against sin, and our care of our own souls, must be constant.
