Ephesians 6:10 Be Strong in the LORD
Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power.
  • Remember that we are strong in the LORD.
  • We do not walk according to our own strength or will power – but in His strength, as we walk in humility – surrendered to His will and His plans and purposes.

How can we be strong in the LORD?

When we realize how weak we are and that we must fully depend on Jesus, then we are ready to be strong in the LORD.

We have to recognize how much we need Jesus before we can become strong in the LORD.

Jesus tells us in John 15:5 that “apart from Him, we can do nothing.”

If we are giving ourselves credit for anything we are doing – we should STOP. To God be ALL the glory and honor and praise.

It is God who works in us to will and to act according to His good purpose. Phil. 2:13

To be strong in the LORD, we must rest in Him.

We should remain in Christ and rest in Him and in His finished work on the cross.

Jesus also told us in John 15 that He is the Vine and we are the branches and that the Father is the Gardener. As the branches, we are to stay attached to the Vine and the Gardener, our Father, sees to it that we are watered, fed and pruned – so that we grow and mature and bear fruit. We depend on Jesus, the Vine, for our sap/blood flow/life force – we depend on the LORD for our very sustenance. From Jesus we have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us and joined with our spirits to bear the fruits of the Spirit and for power, love and self control. When we do stay attached to Jesus and remain in Him through prayer and meditating on His Word and by intentionally putting His love into practice in our lives – then He said in John 15:7: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.”

When we are strong in the LORD we can stand through any trials or troubles with Him on our side. We can say, thank You, LORD and praise Him, always! 🙂

Have a blessed day!
