Why We Do the Blog

By Jerry 9/30/14

Me and my wife have been together for almost 10 years and have been married for 8 years. We have been through a lot since we met and had been through a lot in our separate lives before we met. I can speak for my life that most of my stupid decisions were of my own doing. I did turn to the Lord in Dec. 2002 and still continued to make a lot of bad decisions even after I got serious about my faith. But the Lord has never given up on me.

As I have grown in my faith and read the Bible on a daily basis (for the most part) my eyes have been opened to a lot of things and I have realized a lot and like to share what I have learned and continue to learn.

A lot of people think that if they serve the Lord they aren’t ever going to have any more trouble in this life and when trouble in this life does come they turn away from their faith. The Bible does speak of this in the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:3.

Some people think that they will get rich if they follow God and there is a lot of name it and claim it preaching going on today. There is nothing wrong with being rich. I mean, who wouldn’t like to be rich? But my point is that just because someone turns their life over to the Lord that doesn’t mean they will have earthly wealth or worldly success. But it does mean that we are going to be with our Lord forever on the other side. (In eternity)

We are going to live forever and God gave us the choice where we are going to spend eternity – with Him or in hell – that is the choice we have.

I want to tell you why I turned to the Lord. I had been doing life my way for 30 years and it had all been bad by my own doing and I was ready to start a new life for myself with the Lord and like I said, there have been times when I wasn’t close to the Lord but He kept me alive and knew His plan for me even when I didn’t know it.

Getting to know God has been the best experience that I have ever had. I will continue to get to knowing God until I die and then I’ll be with Him forever! We as humans are going to have trouble, trials and tribulation on earth as long as we are alive. I want my Savior with me as I face the storms of life because He will never leave me or forsake me. I don’t want to go through it alone and hope I hope that whoever reads this will choose Jesus to walk with them, also.

This blog is for anyone who wants to know more about Jesus and His love and how faith in Him plays out in real life application. Hello, we are Jerry and Angela and we are two fools for Christ. We have decided to make our lives totally surrendered to Jesus in response to His love and His gift of salvation. We are in our early 40′s and we have two children together and [Angela has] an older daughter that is now an adult. We have been married to each other for going on ten years. We surrendered our lives to the Lord together in 2010 and have been growing in that relationship with Him and each other since that time. We both accepted salvation and made professions of faith earlier in our lives, but did not make Him Lord and Savior until 2010. At that time we realized that trying to walk in our own strength and our own ways was useless and empty and had led us to another rock bottom experience. We humbly turned our lives over to Jesus and have been seeking Him with all that we are ever since. That does not mean that we have become perfect. That does not mean that we have not sinned again. That does not mean that we have not had trouble or trials or storms since that time. What this means is that we are growing, we are learning, we are becoming more loving and compassionate and forgiving. We want to share our faith with our readers. We want to share our growth process and transformation with you. We wish to encourage you and lift you.
