Ambassadors of Jesus Christ

Do we realize as Christians that we are Jesus’ ambassadors? Do we know what that means? Do we take that calling seriously? To represent the Lord and be a minister of reconciliation to God, it is the job of each and every member of the body of Christ. Each of us who are saved have been given authority in the name of Jesus to heal, to set free, loose chains, release from bondage, and take His gospel message to the lost, wherever they are, in our homes, our schools, our neighborhoods, our jobs, where we shop… In all that we do we are to do it as unto the Lord – we are representing Jesus to the world. Let us really take that to heart and let this sink in and measure our motives and actions.
Lord, let this begin with me that I take this so much more seriously and that I honor you with my life. I know of many shortcomings in myself and I thank You that You are growing me and maturing me and I pray that I surrender more to You each and every day. Forgive me for all of the sins that I know that need to be removed and even the ones that I don’t recognize as of yet. I thank You that You are working in me to will and to act according to Your good purposes. I know that when You do something new in me, I reach greater levels of peace and freedom and happiness that nothing of this world could ever compare to or offer. I thank You that You take each of us from glory to glory. And I don’t even deserve that – but You are so good that You love me and bless me and Your grace and mercy are always with me. You are more than amazing God. I could never thank You enough. I pray that Your will is done on earth as it is in heaven and that Your kingdom comes. I pray that we who love and know You are busy about our Father’s business and that we are filled with the Holy Spirit, led by You and taught and guided by You O LORD. May we walk in the measure of faith that You have given to each of us, may we walk in Your power and strength and not our own, may the knowledge and wisdom that You have given to us be accompanied by Your power and LOVE. Fill our hearts with Your love, Lord. I thank You so much for Your Word and Your commands and Your promises. I pray these words in faith asking and receiving in the name of Jesus, the Name Above All Names, Jesus!
II Corinthians 5: 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[b] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
4243 /presbeúō (“act as an ambassador”) means to act as an established statesman (diplomat) – a trusted, respected ambassador who is authorized to speak as God’s emissary (represent His kingdom).
This term is used in the ancient phrase, “I am on embassy to the Emperor, I am an ambassador” (Souter) – i.e. as someone respected as trustworthy (loyal, knowledgeable), especially in the opinion of those they know (belong to).
