Truth – the Truth Will Set You Free

John 8:31-32 31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

One thing about the truth: even though mankind may try to twist the truth or change the truth to fit his own desires, the truth never changes. The truth is absolute. The truth is eternal. That is one thing that is beautiful about the truth. The truth is pure and changes for no man, for no woman and certainly not for the devil.

Mankind in today’s world and in general, does not believe in God or His ways. Those who mock God and have contempt for Him, His rules and His people do not have any desire for truth. A man with himself for a god does not see a need for following the rules set by anyone other than himself. What a man like this thinks is that if those other people with their rules would just leave me alone, I could be happy. I could be happy if they would just let me live my life the way that I want to and do whatever I desire to do. I am not a bad person, I have love in my heart for those that I care to love and I will be happier if they will just stop trying to control me.

What is sad about trying to twist the truth or discount the truth because one thinks that he or she will be happier if everyone else’s truth will just leave them alone to their’s, is that there is only one truth that will allow for a man to be happy and at peace. The truth that others find so offensive is there to protect, inspire, encourage and grow a man’s heart, mind, soul, and body.

The way that the Truth sets you free is this: When you accept the Truth and stop fighting the truth, then you are set free from the constant struggle of trying to find or establish your own truth. Also, your own truth will lead to spiritual death and destruction, physical death and deterioration, mental and emotional pain and death and ultimately an eternal type of death where you are separated from your Creator and Redeemer, forever.
The following verses are one example:
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
The Bible also tells us that there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of that is death.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
Our Creator, our Heavenly Father, knows how we are formed and what will hurt us, heal us, damage us, enhance us and how we are affected by every food, substance, emotion, motivation and behavior. That is why He gave us His Word and His truth and His guidelines to live. God hates sin because it hurts us. Sin is sin because it damages us and entangles us. We are free when we accept and hold to the teachings of Jesus and God’s Word and stop struggling to be our own gods. We are free when we make Jesus the Lord of our lives and we are brought into His kingdom of light and our eyes are opened to the lies and deceptions and delusions that we have been tricked and ensnared into believing. We are free when Jesus breaks the chains of addictions and bondage and oppression and spiritual darkness. He has done this, will we accept? Will we be free? Will we walk in the absolute Truth? Will we walk in the freedom and the victory that Jesus purchased for us with His own blood?

This blog is for anyone who wants to know more about Jesus and His love and how faith in Him plays out in real life application. Hello, we are Jerry and Angela and we are two fools for Christ. We have decided to make our lives totally surrendered to Jesus in response to His love and His gift of salvation. We are in our early 40′s and we have two children together and [Angela has] an older daughter that is now an adult. We have been married to each other for going on ten years. We surrendered our lives to the Lord together in 2010 and have been growing in that relationship with Him and each other since that time. We both accepted salvation and made professions of faith earlier in our lives, but did not make Him Lord and Savior until 2010. At that time we realized that trying to walk in our own strength and our own ways was useless and empty and had led us to another rock bottom experience. We humbly turned our lives over to Jesus and have been seeking Him with all that we are ever since. That does not mean that we have become perfect. That does not mean that we have not sinned again. That does not mean that we have not had trouble or trials or storms since that time. What this means is that we are growing, we are learning, we are becoming more loving and compassionate and forgiving. We want to share our faith with our readers. We want to share our growth process and transformation with you. We wish to encourage you and lift you.
